An idea brought to life.

Hi, my name is Steven Lowry. Like many people Im an aspiring writer whos desperately seeking a way to get his stories read. Having worked in the comic book industry for several years on the editing side, I know most submissions go from the mail to the garbage, often unopened. Out of those which are opened, if you are not an artist, the stories do not get read. Why is this you ask?

The Answer is simple. Too much risk of lawsuit. Its easy to read a story, then write something similar several years later. It could just be coincidence, or you just don't know where you got the inspiration. It doesnt matter, you finish a great story, only to be met with someone claiming you stole their ideas.

What I wrestled with is, how to get my story shown, in an easy, convenient way for people to access it. Im still struggling with this one, but thus far the web is the best option Ive found. So, Ive created a story for you to read, and another Im working on which I hope to have finished soon. Please take a look and tell me what you think.

I'll tell you right now, the writing is mine, the art isn't. While I can't draw, I'm blessed with many talented friends who are willing to help me with my short comings.

Ebon Nights
What happens when someone is so upset over their sister's death that they create a mpd to keep her alive? Well, we get a pretty messed-up individual. Now imagine he's granted powers, only it's the mpd which gets them. This is the concept for Ebony, a repressed personality given form, and all the therapy in the world isn't going to help him this time.

Daughter of the Damned
The main character, Yvon, is essentially torn between her two conflicting natures, good and evil. A vampire in nature, she's made by a sire who's just finished feeding on the priest who tried to help her. Thus Yvon's made from the evil of her sire, and the benevolent blood of the priest. I know it's been done a thousand times, but the essence of the story is a classic one. And makes for an entertaining read. Granted, I'm biased. I like what I've done here, hopefully you will too.
